York Music Stories

We are pleased to announce a collaboration between the York Music Venues Network and York Centre for Writing at York St John University on a new book celebrating York Music Stories. During this quiet time of postponed shows and empty venues, we wanted to make the most of it and reflect on the effect that music has on our lives and it’s importance to our culture and well being. We want to collect these amazing memories and show the best of York’s music scene, past and present , and we need your contributions to form the basis of a book, published to support local music venues in York.

We are looking for your music related stories, thoughts, memories and observations about current and past music in the city. This might include, but are not limited to:

Venues
Gigs
Sound systems
Club nights
Record stores
Festivals
Unlikely venues
Meeting your heroes

If you would like to contribute, please send 25-100 words under any heading to the email address below. We’d also like to see any pictures that you have that illustrate music in York, including pictures of ticket stubs, flyers, shots of gigs, long lost venues, your best mate upside down in a bass bin, etc. (Send as many contributions as you like and if they are a bit long, don’t worry.)

Fulford Arms TV

Since the first lockdown back in March, we have been creating content for our very own "TV show" on YouTube. We have decided to call it "Fulford Arms TV". It even has it's own jingle.

When local restrictions allow, we intend to use our created TV show to stream live music direct to your living room. Please subscribe to the YouTube channel (you can visit it by clicking the link below) and look out for show announcements from our Facebook page.
